Lechovice Wine Cellars are among the traditional producers of quality natural wines in the Znojmo wine-growing sub-region, where vine cultivation has deep roots. The preserved records of the greatest development of the winery are connected with the Louka monastery in Znojmo. In 1723, a cellar excavation was permitted in the castle park in Lechovice, which is currently used for the production of the finest wines. The cellar was completed 114 years later, in 1837. The technical solution of the cellar space ensures a stable temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and an environment ideal for production and ripening of wine in barrels.
The current company was founded in 1993 and continues the long tradition of Lechovice winery. The total vineyard of the company, which has been preserved for centuries, is 230 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards fall into the cadastre of the wine villages Borotice, Božice, Oleksovice and Lechovice.
In this area, white aromatic wines are the foremost. Grapes, thanks to slow ripening and reduced harvesting of grapes, achieve the high quality and aroma typical of the northern wine region. Particularly highly appreciated are the varieties of Sauvignon, Pálava and Tramín, as evidenced by frequent awards at international exhibitions.
The wine cellars Lechovice were awarded the certificate of Integrated grape and wine production. The basic concern of society is the use of biological methods of protection in the vineyard. Since 2011, we have been awarded the ISO 22000 Food Safety Certificate.
The wine cellars Lechovice are producers of wine from their own vineyards in the Znojmo wine-growing sub-region, which allows them to produce quality wines with the name of a winegrower.
Wine production utilizes both traditional wood chip production technology and advanced processing in large-volume stainless steel tanks using new technologies, grape drying, pure yeast cultures and controlled fermentation. High-quality bottling is provided by a modern filling line. Our large-capacity air-conditioned warehouses allow ripening of wine in bottles before shipping.
