Medvedgrad is a family-owned brewery from Zagreb, Croatia, established in 1994. It was craft before there was craft. In 1994, the family run Medvedgrad Brewery was founded in Zagreb. It is the oldest microbrewery in Croatia and its tasty, well-balanced lagers and ales, and delightful beer halls won the hearts of its guests from the very first day. With over 20 years of experience in the beer business, a large and well-known brand was built.
Medvedgrad sold its beer exclusively through its beer halls until 2013 when national distribution started. A loyal and strong customer base was a generator of the high demand for beer and the company had to increase its production capacity twice in the last 3 years. Majority of revenues comes from sales of bottled beer, which increased 21 times from the beginning of sales in 2013. The hard work and big effort have been recognized by the most prestigious beer rating website ratebeer.com, where in 2014 and 2015 Medvedgrad was voted the best brewery in Croatia.
MEDVEDGRAD ZLATNI MEDVJED PILSNER
Golden Bear Pilsner is one of the first beers of Medvedgrad brewery. It is a golden-yellow colored pilsner, thus the name “golden bear”. It’s one of Medvedgrad’s signature beers characterized by refreshing taste and pleasantly bitter aroma.
MEDVEDGRAD DVA KLASA HEFE-WEIZEN
Our Two Spikes Hefe-Weizen is one of our signature beers. It is a dark clouded wheat beer with a purple red color and a unique and specific scent and taste which comes from wheat malt.
MEDVEDGRAD CRNA KRALJICA DARK LAGER
The “Black queen” is a dark lager with additional hops and a characteristic taste and aroma from dark, roasted, caramelized malt grains. If you feel like venturing to the dark side look no further.
MEDVEDGRAD GRICKA VJESTICA DOPPELBOCK
Strong dark lager, with a gentle ruby red colour. A light, aromatic taste, with a rich fine sweetness and a pleasant aroma. We brew Gricka vještica (Gric witch) throughout the year.
